An intensive, practical workshop in our Dawson facility covering circuit teardowns, thermal paste repasting, hash board voltage checks, custom firmware tuning, and real-time efficiency calibration.

What You Will Master on the Bench

✓Under-volting and frequency tuning on open-source firmware (Braiins OS, Vnish) to maximize Joules-per-Terahash (J/TH)

Day-by-Day Hands-on Syllabus
Day 1 Morning: Hardware Architecture & Teardown
Inspect power delivery units (APW12/custom PSU), control boards, and bus interfaces. Full safe teardown of a non-functional unit.
Day 1 Afternoon: Thermal Overhaul & Board Diagnostics
Cleaning oxidized pins, applying Arctic MX-6 / Honeywell PTM7950 phase-change pads, and using thermal cameras to spot localized hot spots.
Day 2 Morning: Power Delivery & Electrical Safety
Wiring 240V C19/C20 connectors, calculating continuous load margins under AS/NZS 3000 wiring rules, and harmonic distortion mitigations.
Day 2 Afternoon: Firmware Tuning & Operational Optimization
Flashing custom control board firmware, configuring auto-tuning profiles for ambient heat swings, and setting up Prometheus/Grafana local telemetry.
Scope & Inclusions
Covers both modern generation SHA-256 ASIC miners (Antminer S19/S21 series, Whatsminer M30/M50 series) and multi-GPU open-frame compute rigs. Focuses purely on physical engineering, thermal management, and electrical efficiency.

Workshop Registration
Led by Michael Vance, Master Electrician and Senior Hardware Engineer with 8+ years experience maintaining industrial-scale compute facilities across Victoria.
Bring closed-toe footwear and a notebook. Basic electrical familiarity is helpful but not mandatory; all safety procedures and tool handling are taught from fundamentals.
Physical class capped at 6 participants to ensure one-on-one bench supervision and safe handling of 240V high-amperage hardware.
